Emily practices in the firm’s Torts & Insurance practice group. She brings a comprehensive legal background including civil litigation, insurance law, wills and estates work, and family law. She is admitted to practice law in Kentucky and Tennessee.
Emily has been involved in the legal profession since high school, serving as an intern and legal assistant for the Clinton (Ky.) County Attorney, and two other attorneys in her hometown of Albany, Ky. During law school, she served as a law clerk for Chief Regional Circuit Judge Jeffrey Burdette in Somerset and Regional Circuit Judge Thomas Wingate in Frankfort. She served as an extern in the Office of the Fayette Commonwealth’s Attorney, where she obtained a limited practice license and both independently wrote pleadings and successfully argued in a suppression hearing.
Emily is licensed to practice in Kentucky and Tennessee.

Plaintiff alleged slip and fall at a variety store. Obtained voluntary dismissal.
Plaintiff filed a wrongful death lawsuit against party hosts following a shooting on their property. Obtained voluntary dismissal.
Plaintiff filed an improper direct action against an insurance adjuster. Obtained voluntary dismissal.

Emily is an accomplished pianist and singer, and is involved in multiple choral groups performing in Lexington and the Bluegrass region. She taught piano in the University of Kentucky Piano Program while in college and law school, served as church pianist in her hometown, and is a six-year member of the selective performance group, the Lexington Singers. Emily is a member of the Junior League of Lexington, and serves on the Board for the League’s annual Holly Day Market.
