Maureen defends municipalities and other public entities in litigation, including employment and employee discipline, civil rights, police officer defense, and other legal issues they face. She also works with the Healthcare Law group on insurance defense litigation and medical malpractice defense, including hospital, clinic and physician practices, and public entities including providers of healthcare services in correctional institutions.
Prior to attending law school Maureen spent three years as a civil litigation paralegal, working on a variety of cases including medical and professional malpractice, business litigation, and professional licensing practices. Her experience includes clerkships at two Florida litigation firms as well as a legal externship with Tapestry, Inc., a multinational holding company in New York City.
During her legal education she served as a teaching assistant to first-year legal writing and appellate advocacy classes and was an editor on the University of Florida Journal of Law and Public Policy.
