Malles, Yocum Elevated to Partnership
Sturgill, Turner, Barker & Moloney, PLLC is pleased to announce that Maureen C. Malles and Andy M. Yocum have been promoted to Members of the firm, effective January 1, 2025.
A Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” honoree for Health Care Law, Maureen is a member of Sturgill Turner’s Government & Municipal Law and Healthcare Law practice groups, focusing her practice on civil litigation and medical negligence defense. She defends municipalities and other public entities in litigation, including employment and employee discipline, civil rights, and other legal issues they face. She also works with the Healthcare Law group on insurance defense litigation and medical malpractice defense, including hospital, clinic and physician practices, and public entities including providers of healthcare services in correctional institutions.
She is a member of the Kentucky and Fayette County Bar Associations, the FCBA Women Lawyers’ Association and Young Lawyers Division, the Central Kentucky American Inns of Court, and Defense Research Institute (DRI), where she serves on the marketing committee for the DRI Civil Rights and Governmental Tort Liability Seminar. Maureen is a member of the Leadership Lexington Class of 2024-25.
Andy’s practice focuses on civil litigation and insurance defense in the firm’s Torts and Insurance practice group. His experience spans a wide variety of cases, including personal injury defense, commercial automobile defense, premises liability defense, professional liability defense, and defense of civil rights claims against government officials and agencies. He also has a growing practice in estate and trust planning. Andy has been named a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for Insurance Law, Personal Injury Litigation - Defendants and a SuperLawyers “Rising Star.”
Andy serves on the Fayette County Bar Association Board of Directors, and is a member of the Kentucky and Woodford County Bar Associations, the Central Kentucky American Inns of Court, and DRI.
