Sturgill Turner sponsors UK Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and Latino Law Students Association (LLSA) Banquet

On March 28, 2024, Sturgill Turner was honored to serve as the title sponsor for the 4th Annual BLSA & LLSA Banquet, presented by the Black Law Student Association (BLSA) and Latino Law Students Association (LLSA) at the University of Kentucky.

Sturgill Turner attorneys joined students from across UK’s J. David Rosenberg College of Law with the aim to provide a platform for our diverse legal community to come together, foster discussions on crucial legal issues, and celebrate diversity and unity.

Keynote speakers for the banquet included Judge Pamela Goodwine, attorney Morgan Gonzalez, and Judge Yvette de la Guardia. Sturgill Turner energy law attorney James Gardner spoke briefly to the group about his experiences in public service, including as a member of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council, and as Chair of the Fayette County School Board, and on some of Sturgill Turner’s initiatives addressing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in the firm and the legal field.

“The BLSA and LLSA organizations provide powerful leadership and support for UK law students,” said Gardner. “It’s a privilege to hear about their experiences, and share my perspective with these outstanding students, who are truly the next generation of strong diverse leaders for Kentucky and beyond.”
